So I was distracted by something shiny - a new season of Slayers. Apparently I was out of the loop!
These are pins (or sometimes magnets) that I make out of craft foam with a little help from fabric paint and markers. I make patterns out of cardboard so that I can remake the characters again and again. They are all hand traced, cut with scissors, and glued.
Generally I post things because I think of them as "finished", but these I wanted a little feedback on if possible.
Lina - I was rather happy with how she came out, but I'm second guessing my choice of eye color. I used red - is it more pinkish? Either way, she was a ton of fun to make! I really don't have any complaints with her besides I wish the orange was just a tad darker/redder, but nothing I can do about that.
Gourry - The reference I went from did not have his hair covering his right eye, but I think I should go back and change that. I like him this way, but it seems to be more accurate the other way. And as with Lina, I used blue for his eyes - are they more turquoise? I'm not as big of a fan of this one, but put it with Lina and I think they're cute.
Amelia - Basically it comes down to this: does the hair look right? Something about it bothers me, but I can't put my finger on what. I was thinking of making the back of her double layered, with the last layer being purple. That's how it looks, but would it work in this medium? The purple is pretty bright, so I'm not sure. So I'm a bit iffy on her.
Zelgadis - I know I tried making him before, but I just didn't have the right colors. I managed to find colors really similar for the hair and face, though I may change the details on his face to dark green (they don't yet make a dark grey, unfortunately). He's a bit annoying to make, honestly, what with all those small pieces, but he's worth the effort in the end, I think!
I'm open to any suggestions on these! A Xelloss might come about in the future (he is my favorite, after all), but he seems like he'd be a bit boring like this, so I'm not sure.
Thanks! ^_^ My sis and I sell them at Artist's Alley tables at local cons - don't know if you go to any, but you're in the right area to run into us if you do. ^_~
Ah, we wanted to, but it sold out before we had the chance. D: We usually hit up Ohayocon, but they're changing their policy on fanart this year it seems...

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
